The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Tuesday has extended the last date of payment under the Direct Tax Vivad se Vishwas Act, 2020 till September 30 by amending a previous notification no. 85/2020, dated the 27th October, 2020
The previous deadline was August 31.
The Direct Tax ‘Vivad se Vishwas’ Act, 2020 was enacted on March 17, 2020, with the objective to reduce pending income tax litigation, generate timely revenue for the Government and benefit taxpayers.
