CBDT Notifies 30th April 2025 As Deadline To File Declarations Under Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme

The Ministry of Finance, via the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), has notified April 30, 2025, as the final date to submit declarations under the Direct Tax Vivad se Vishwas Scheme, 2024, in accordance with Section 90 of the Finance (No. 2) Act, 2024.
The scheme offers taxpayers a chance to resolve outstanding direct tax disputes by submitting a declaration of tax arrears to the designated authority under Section 90 of the Act. The April 30, 2025 deadline applies to all eligible individuals aiming to settle their pending tax matters through this initiative.
The Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme, 2024 was introduced in the Union Budget 2024-25 on July 23, with October 1, 2024, officially notified as the commencement date for availing benefits under the scheme.
The scheme is available to taxpayers involved in disputes or appeals—including writs and special leave petitions—pending as of July 22, 2024, before the Supreme Court, High Courts, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, or Commissioner/Joint Commissioner (Appeals), regardless of whether filed by the taxpayer or the tax department.
