
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to be followed by Hotels, Hospitality Units, Shopping malls, Restaurants, religious places/ places of worship and offices to contain spread of COVID-19.
The ministry has said social distancing, face masks and hand hygiene etc has to be followed strictly. Persons above 65 years of age, persons with comorbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years have been advised to stay at home. Spitting shall be strictly prohibited.
Religious places have been allowed to open up, but with stringent rules for worship. “Touching of statues, idols, holy books, etc., are not to be allowed. Large gatherings, congregation continue to be prohibited.
Among its general guidelines, the health ministry asks everyone to install and use of the Aarogya Setu app.
In restaurants, seating arrangement has to be made in such a way that adequate social distancing is maintained and not more than 50% of seating capacity to be permitted.
Gaming arcades, children play areas and cinema halls inside shopping malls shall remain closed.
