The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has recently issued an advisory regarding significant changes in the GSTR-8 form. This advisory aims to streamline the reporting process for e-commerce operators, ensuring compliance with GST regulations.
Due to modifications announced by the GST Council, taxpayers have been encountering validation errors while filing GSTR-8 for the month of July 2024. To address this, the GSTN has informed that it is working diligently to implement the necessary changes to the form.
Taxpayers are advised to expect these changes to be completed within the next few days, enabling them to file their GSTR-8 returns smoothly from August 6, 2024, onwards.
GSTR-8 is a mandatory return that e-commerce operators are required to file under the GST regime. It includes details of supplies made through their platforms and the amount of tax collected at source (TCS) on these supplies.
