The Supreme Court of India on Saturday has issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Advocate and Party-in-person for e-Filing, Mentioning, Listing and Video Conferencing Hearing amid the Coronavirus lockdown.
The Supreme Court had decided on May 15 to postpone its summer vacation by five weeks and declared that it would remain functional from May 18 to June 19.
The apex court said while issuing the fresh SOP, “1881” helpline number will be functional from 10 AM to 5 PM to provide instant solutions to the queries of advocate and litigants about e-filing and other relevant issues. It further said that the timing of sitting of the virtual courts will be notified in the respective cause lists which will be published well in advance.
The new circular has superseded the previous SOPs on e-filing and mentioning which were issued on March 23, 26 and April 17.
A step by step procedure to join the video conferencing and to ensure its hassle free functioning is also mentioned in the circular.
