The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on Friday has issued the Sea Cargo Manifest and Transhipment (Fifth Amendment) Regulations, 2021. The amended provisions provides revised procedure and timeline for surrender, revocation, suspension, issue and expiry of license granted under the Sea Cargo Manifest and Transhipment (Fifth Amendment) Regulations, 2021.
An authorised carrier may surrender his registration issued under Sea Cargo Manifest and Transhipment (Fifth Amendment) Regulations, 2021 through a written request to the Jurisdictional Commissioner of Customs.
A license granted under Sea Cargo Manifest and Transhipment (Fifth Amendment) Regulations, 2021 shall be valid unless and until revoked. The license shall be deemed invalid, if the licensee is found to be inactive for a period of one year.
