SEBI Modifies Valuation Framework For Investment Portfolio Of AIFs

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has announced modifications to the valuation framework for Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) as part of the SEBI (Alternative Investment Funds) Regulations, 2012. These modifications, effective immediately, aim to enhance consistency and transparency in the valuation of AIF portfolios.

Under the revised framework, the valuation of securities not addressed by specific provisions must adhere to guidelines approved by an AIF industry association that represents at least 33% of registered AIFs. These endorsed guidelines are based on recommendations from SEBI’s Alternative Investment Policy Advisory Committee (AIPAC).
