
The Supreme Court on Friday has cancelled its summer vacation and decided to continue working till June 19 for the loss in working hours due to national lockdown.
Chief Justice S.A. Bobde held a full court meeting, where a consensus was reached to continue working during the summer vacation.
The court will hear cases through video conferencing from May 18 till June 19.
In a notification, the court’s registrar said the vacation, which was scheduled to commence on May 18, stands rescheduled. The court will work during the five-week period from May 18 till June 19, he added.
Further plans on whether to continue functioning or go for a short break would be taken after June 19.
