The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday issued advisory and said Zoom, an American video communication platform, is not a safe platform for video conferencing. Further MHA has issued guidelines for the safety of private users who still wants to use the application regardless of loopholes.
The Cyber Coordination Centre of the MHA issued a set of guidelines for safe usage by private individuals. The guidelines will prevent unauthorised entry in the conference room and even malicious activity by authorised participants on terminals of the other participants. It would also avoid DOS attack by restricting users through passwords and access grant.
A DOS (denial-of-service) attack is done by hackers to make a computer or network resource unavailable to its intended users.
Zoom App was being widely used for office meetings and court hearings following national lockdown.
